Smedegaard UK
Smedegaards’ base in the UK was established in 1982, the original premises being a small unit on the Wylds Road Industrial Estate in Bridgwater, Somerset. In 1988 the company moved to larger premises on Barhams Close and the continued growth enjoyed by the UK operation meant that in the early 90’s the premises had to be substantially extended to accommodate additional staff and manufacturing facilities. The company has continued to grow, improving upon its annual turnover year by year. In 2010 the UK company will be looking forward to moving to new larger premises to accommodate its development. The Bridgwater facility manufactures a comprehensive range of pressurisation equipment for sealed heating and chilled water systems, together with cold water booster sets covering domestic, commercial, industrial and fire fighting applications. Our flexibility at the Bridgwater facility enables us to build bespoke packages to suit virtually all applications mentioned previously. During its twenty seven year history, Smedegaard UK has been supplying pumps, pressurisation and cold water booster equipment for projects such as the refurbishment of Claridges Hotel in London, Chelsea FC training facility at Cobham, Honda UK in Slough, the Langham Hilton Hotel in London, the University of Bristol, HM Prisons at various locations in the UK. Having been used at such prestigious sites means prospective users of Smedegaard products can have confidence in the quality, value and service given by the company. General Manager, Chris Barrett, believes that the company’s ongoing success is due to a number of reasons, key amongst which is a group of staff working together to provide good customer service. Additional to this is having the right products with engineering excellence as standard, being able to provide the technical expertise customers need, and providing a rapid response time for service/commissioning requirements. Smedegaard UK will continue to develop its manufacturing capability, making sure that it can continue its policy of being able to offer the customer a complete package of equipment specifically designed for the H&V industry. This, together with the overall company policy of producing quality products backed by technical/commissioning expertise, will ensure a steady increase in the UK market share.
